For many years, ever since I was a kid, I avoided watching One Piece, despite the fact that One Piece was everywhere I looked. I'd see Franky everywhere, but I'd look in the other direction. On one occasion, my brother remembers me holding up a photo of him and expressing my opinions on Franky's post-timeskip design, talking about my opinions at the time about One Piece's odd character designs (my poor man, I'm so sorry my love, please forgive me)! I really, truly thought that Franky would never be my type. It wasn't until a few years after that that I finally decided to give One Piece a shot, and it's been one of the best decisions of my life. I never imagined I'd REALLY meet the fictional love of my life through a piece of media I'd resisted watching since I was 12 years old, but here I am, almost 12 years later and head over heels for him. It wasn't until I officially met him in One Piece that he really started to slowly prove me wrong about everything I thought of him. His silly sense of humour, optimism, creativity, free spirited nature, unbridled confidence and caring disposition towards his crewmates is what truly made me fall in love with him.Having Franky in my life has changed me in ways I never thought possible. He's made me so much more confident in every way. In myself, in my looks, in my abilities, in my future. He never fails to make me laugh, bringing me joy and comfort. He challenges me to be my best self and he inspires so much of what I do. Mimi Seabright, a 32 year old tailor, artist and fashion designer. Born on Water Seven after her father, a notorious member of the Revolutionary Army, was executed by the World Government, her mother started a small tailor shop in the outskirts of the city to make ends meet. Mimi worked hard with her mother, learning to wash, sew, and design clothes. She barely left the shop, mostly due to her own passions, often locking herself away to draw in her sketchbook when she had free time.When she was 6, a woman named Kokoro brought two boys into her mother's shop to get some clothing repaired... a 10 year old Franky and a 14 year old Iceburg. Mimi's mother was quick to make good customer relations, even making friends with Kokoro, who would often encourage Mimi to go out and play with Franky and Iceburg when they had a free moment from their work building ships. At first it felt forced, young Mimi often refusing to talk and Franky often complaining to Iceburg about "doing babysitting" while looking for any excuse to run off to continue working his "Battle Franky" ships.It wasn't until Franky discovered Mimi's affinity for drawing and their shared love of creativity that they started to become friends. Mimi became interested in Franky's battle ship designs and Franky became fascinated with Mimi's ability to draw anything from her head in great detail, especially clothing designs and her favourite animals, horses and Yagara bulls. Franky began to show off his latest creations to Mimi, often turning up at the tailor shop's doorstep to drag her out of her room. In turn, Mimi would find herself occasionally sneaking onto the shipyard to watch Franky and Iceburg hard at work with Tom.Over the many years, she'd use this as an excuse to learn to draw her surroundings, studying the work they were doing (and, occasionally, sneaking in a few sketches of Franky himself). It was around this time that she began to notice her developing feelings for Franky. But, with Tom's Workers dedicating their time and effort to building the first ever Sea Train, she dared not act on it. Franky became increasingly aware of his feelings for Mimi as well, occasionally throwing a few bold compliments her way, but he dared not let that get in the way of his work. A year or so after the Sea Train's completion, Mimi began working on a custom leather jacket she planned to gift to Franky as a way of finally confessing her feelings to him. At 22, she had learned that her family business was going bankrupt due to the piracy in the area, so she planned to confess to him the day after the World Government pardons Tom for creating the Oro Jackson. She was being forced to leave Water Seven for the nearby city of San Faldo, where she would be taken in by a family friend and would train in costume design. She couldn't bring herself to leave Water Seven without truly making her feelings for Franky known.Unfortunately, Mimi never got the chance to do this. Tom was taken on the Sea Train to Enies Lobby to be executed by the World Government, and with Franky's bold attempts to stop the train with his own body, it nearly claimed his life too. Believing Franky to be dead, it nearly destroyed Mimi. She paid Iceburg a visit before it was time for her to depart for San Faldo, which resulted in a dispute between the two over Franky's actions. Iceburg refused to forgive Franky for creating the Battle Franky battleships that caused harm to the people of Water Seven at the hands of Spandam and the Government, and Mimi viciously defended Franky's honour out of love, arguing that he was following his passions and had no intention for his creations to be used for such harm. Regardless, she left Water 7 without telling Iceburg she was headed for the next city over.Mimi spent the next 10 years on San Faldo, developing her skills as an artist and fashion designer. It was on San Faldo she ran into more than a few scuffles with the Government of her own, joined the Revolutionary Army, and came into contact with a Devil Fruit called the Doodle Doodle no Mi.
Little to her knowledge, Franky is still alive, sailing with the Straw Hats, a crew she will later join as the ship's resident Tailor. Franky still holds Mimi fondly in his memories, hoping for the day he'll see her once again.[S/I LORE STILL IN PROGRESS! I hope you enjoyed what I have so far <3]
